Together We Rise

United for Change & Peace

Each year for the past ten years, there have been over 100 homicides in greater Cleveland. The high number of homicides and shootings continue. The average number of homicides for the period 2020 through 2022 is 218. While there are many noteworthy individual efforts and action to combat the crisis of crime and gun violence, we support unity and strong collaboration amongst activists to magnify the impact and outreach of our efforts.

Together We Rise is a coalition of activist individuals and organizations dedicated to community work and advocacy for ending gun violence. M-PAC Cleveland facilitated several community conversations surrounding Gun Violence in Cleveland among groups and individuals which led to the official start of Together we Rise on September 9, 2021.

Objectives:

(1) To collaborate and share strengths among groups to address gun violence prevention, gun legislation, and healing for survivors.

(2) To provide a space to share information about events and activities that address gun violence prevention, gun legislation, and healing for survivors.

We are:

  • Working together to engage and empower our neighborhoods to address needs, questions and concerns surrounding gun violence, crime, and social injustice.
  • Advocating for change that will improve and enhance our neighborhoods.
  • Providing resources and information along with crime alternative activity

We welcome individuals and organizations dedicated to advocacy and activism for reducing crime and gun violence in our communities.
